CREDAI to set up real estate school

An national institute to groom future real-estate developers is being planned in Gujarat. The CREDAI Institute of Real Estate Research and Professional Studies will be built within the premises of Kensville Golf and Country Club, located about 40 kilometres from Ahmedabad.

An announcement in this regard was made at a function in Mumbai on Thursday.

CREDAI institute aims to impart education and conduct research in the real estate sector. It is scheduled to become functional in June 2014 and will have tie-ups and affiliations with top international institutes having expertise in the real estate. “We will be donating land within the Kensville project. The exact size of the land needed for the project is yet to be worked out. The CREDAI members will be meeting next month to work out the modalities,” Jaxay Shah, who owns the Kensville project and is also the director of Ahmedabad-based Savvy Infrastructures Ltd, told The Indian Express.

“CREDAI has taken up the initiative to enhance skill sets and promote talent,” Shah said, adding that the pan-India body of developers also announced the launch of an educational scholarship scheme (ESS) for promoting higher education by offering scholarships to deserving students who pursue full-time degree/post-graduate degree courses in civil engineering or management degrees related to the real estate sector at colleges or institutes recognised by the All India Council of Technical Education.

Pune-based realtor Kumar Urban Development Limited has already committed Rs 1 crore for the institute’s building.
