Careers in Real Estate
As India urbanises, by 2030, 600 million people will live in its cities and India will have 68 cities with a population of over one million. This will lead to a need for qualified professionals that can build these cities and assess the feasibility of such projects.
The real estate industry offers a number of career opportunities for graduates from across streams in construction and infrastructure management. Unlike popular notion, this industry is not only about buildings. From investment banking and management to research, valuations, project management, quantity surveying, corporate real estate, facilities management, sales and marketing, the industry offers plenty of job roles. No wonder then, the industry is looking for talented professionals.
RICS School of Built Environment , Amity University, caters to the need of skilled manpower for the industry. It is supported by more than 200 global companies that are a part of the placement sessions. These companies play an important role in employing freshers. The institute equips students with techno-managerial skills through the various programmes including BBA and MBA in real estate, construction project management and quantity surveying. Students passing out of the Bachelor’s programmes draw jobs with salaries in the range of Rs 4,00,000-6 ,00,000 per annum. Students who complete MBA programmes can expect a remuneration of up to Rs 10,00,000 per annum . While preference is given to students with a civil engineering, architecture or planning degree for certain courses in construction project management, MBA programmes in real estate attract students from all backgrounds including commerce , economics, engineering , etc. Students from all streams of study can opt for a BBA too.
