Manmohan Singh has said that Hyderabad has come forward as a knowledge and technology centre of status and it has been befittingly selected for launching the new campus of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

Today the foundation stone for TIFR’s Hyderabad campus was laid at Gachibowli. He emphasized the need for getting higher human resource in the area of science and technology to sustain competitive advantage in the knowledge economy.

He also worried the need to create an exciting institutional environment through modernization and pursuit of excellence. He said that the scientific and technological skill of a nation is a most important determinant of its state of development. Improvement and knowledge will be the key factors in a nation’s progress.

Therefore they must foster an environment that encourages and care for scientific achievement and makes us a world leader in crafting intellectual property. He called for amplification of scientific infrastructure, representation the brightest minds to scientific explore and creating institutions of the highest standards of quality.
